Perched on the tranquil shores of Manda Island, Amani House is a haven of coastal charm and relaxed luxury overlooking the Mkanda Channel and its mangrove forests. Five air-conditioned bedrooms sleep up to twelve, opening onto expansive terraces, a private pool and uninterrupted views of sunsets over Shela and sunrises over the forest. The house comes with its own team — chef, boat captain and housekeeping — plus two boats for exploring the archipelago. Breakfast is included daily, and Shela village, Peponi Hotel and Lamu Old Town are all a short boat ride away.

• Rates from $700 per night for exclusive use of the whole villa (up to 12 guests).

• Peak season (mid-December to early January and Easter) is charged at a premium with a 5-night minimum stay.
• Food, drinks, excursions and airport transfers are billed separately at cost.
• 50% deposit confirms your dates; the balance is due 30 days before arrival.
